It all started with a vision to create the ultimate culinary destination.  

In 2007, Hudson Daniel Gourmet co-founder Dan Cassara, along with his wife, were living in Seattle, Washington when he sat in a cafe one day daydreaming about a place that would be the perfect destination for food and wine lovers alike. A place to find unique products made by mindful artisans whose crafts were simply not appreciated elsewhere. He named it Hudson Daniel Gourmet.  

Hudson for the river that lined his favorite city, New York, and Daniel because the names seemed to flow together nicely. He added Gourmet to convey the company's desire to seek out the finest purveyors this world had to offer. Several years passed and the concept remained on the shelf until Dan and a colleague at the time, Andrew Neiman began sharing each other's passions for food, wine, artisan makers, and to deliver a new culinary experience. It was then that Hudson Daniel Gourmet was truly born.

Friends and food lovers, Dan and Andy set out to build a team and tell the stories of exceptional artisan food, beverage and homeware makers through a new platform and medium. They also wanted to help food & beverage entrepreneurs thrive, and even invest in their growth.

Today, Hudson Daniel Gourmet operates its new artisan & specialty maker marketplace and provides their partners tools such as marketing support, best practices, supply chain solutions and even financial resources to assist in their development, giving each company a greater sense of stability.

In addition to the marketplace and growth services, Hudson Daniel Gourmet has launched a new and excited series to help tell the stories of their partners, entitled "Meet Your Maker", coming to YouTube in 2018!

Hudson Daniel Gourmet is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, and made up of a team of passionate curators whose goal it is to connect the world, one culinary experience at a time - while supporting a greater objective to end hunger worldwide. Hudson Daniel Gourmet’s mission is to deliver unique and exciting food & beverage experiences to every home, business and palette.

There are a significant amount of new food & beverage brands that hit the market every day that most people will never discover. Hudson Daniel Gourmet is on a journey to bring amazing companies who share their values, many of them small-batch makers, to hungry and thirsty customers around the world.


Dan Cassara
Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer

A first generation American, Dan's parents immigrated to the United States from Italy where food, family and the marriage of the two are a way of life. Constantly surrounded by new and adventurous food choices, Dan grew up admiring the art and beauty of food preparation, while spending countless hours watching his mother, aunts, and grandmothers prepare incredible meals.

At the age of 14, his first part time job was as a bakers assistant and counter clerk at a fine French bakery and eatery in the San Francisco Bay Area where his love for European food and the café experience began to inspire him. Throughout Dan's career, and through the many travels he has made worldwide, his mission to define and someday deliver the ultimate customer experience has been interlaced in every role he has played, regardless of the industry.  

A serial entrepreneur and self-starter, Dan is the former President and CEO of a $2.7B multi-national franchise services operation. When not focusing on his present role, he spends most of his time continually researching and developing ways to deliver innovative experiences that he is certain will make Hudson Daniel Gourmet a tremendous success, and help those in need around the world.

Andy Neiman
Co-Founder and Chief Community Officer

Andy originally hails from Chicago - a true culinary melting pot. His passion for food began at an early age, admiring his Grandma’s tireless ability to cook amazing wholesome meals from scratch while bringing people together for great conversation. These memories, along with a fondness for travel & discovering new food & beverage experiences, have fueled his interest in artisans, along with a desire to share their exceptional stories.

Formerly a corporate Event Director hosting numerous business strategy retreats, marketing summits and large scale conventions & trade shows, he has forever been a fanatic on delivering world-class customer service. That desire along with a knack for meticulous detail and planning has remained a staple of his work.

As Chief Community Officer, Andy’s role allows him to connect companies directly with consumers who are eager to learn more about where their food comes from. Andy is passionate about the fact that Hudson Daniel Gourmet gives its purveyors, many of which are small batch makers - tools to grow and a voice in a crowded market, with an opportunity to bring people closer together over the craft that goes into everything they do. He also hopes the platform will help raise awareness on world hunger and inspire consumers to share their unique experiences with the rest of the Hudson Daniel Gourmet community.

We strive to do business with partners who believe in responsible sourcing, transparency and strive to locally source ingredients for the highest quality and control.   


We believe in promoting healthy win-win relationships with our vendors and suppliers. We believe in demonstrating integrity in business dealings and believe in respect, fairness and integrity at all times and expect the same in return from our vendors and partners. 


Together we can make a difference. We strive to deliver experiences that celebrate life and inspire exploration, all while giving back to those who are less fortunate. By partnering with Hudson Daniel Gourmet, our vendor partners are committed to donate 1% of all sales on Hudson Daniel Gourmet to assist those in need, by helping to end hunger around the world through our charitable foundation.
