In this syrup, full, round berry flavors are developed from a careful blend of hibiscus flower and rose hip. Hand-ground whole toasted cardamom adds depth and subtle spicing. Perfect for home carbonation systems like Aarke, SodaStream, or any carbonated water. We suggest 1oz Syrup per 16oz of carbonated water. Use more or less depending on how much flavor you desire. Help us reduce ready to drink packaging by purchasing concentrates, and using a reusable container like a HydroFlask.
Ingredients: Water, cane sugar, hibiscus flower, rose hip, whole cardamom, citric acid. Includes two, 16 oz bottles.
Hibiscus-Cardamom Soaked Marionberry Shortcakes Recipe
- Whipped cream
- Portland Syrups Hibiscus-Cardamom syrup
The berry-like flavor of this syrup mixes beautifully with the naturally sweet-tart berries, and toasting the shortbread re-awakens it, tenderizing the crumb and allowing it to aromatically diffuse the real cardamom essences.
Split open and lightly toast the shortcakes, their heat will activate and express the delicate, aromatic cardamom oils in the syrup. Drizzle the exposed interior of the shortcake with one ounce of the syrup, then quickly top with fresh whipped cream and marionberries (or your fruit of choice).
