Packaging & Delivery: All food from Formans is shipped in insulated boxes with sufficient freeze packs to assure it arrives in excellent condition within the allowable transit time of 1 day. All orders are shipped without requiring a signature upon delivery. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the contents of the package are stored in a freezer or refrigerator promptly after delivery. Formans USA and Forimports, LLC cannot be responsible for orders with incomplete or invalid addresses, or that are sent to recipients who are not available to properly store the contents of the order on the day of arrival. UPS will not deliver to any P.O. address or P.O box.
Storage & Product Handling: All product arrives to you vacuum packed to preserve freshness and shelf life. All smoked fish products have a 20 day refrigerated shelf life if UNOPENED. All Gravadlax products have a 12 day refrigerated shelf life if UNOPENED. Paupiette products and Smoked Salmon Sausages have a 7 day refrigerated shelf life IF UNOPENED. Once any product packs are opened, remaining product must be wrapped well with plastic wrap and refrigerated. Once product packs are opened, the refrigerated shelf life (wrapped well) is no longer than 3 days. We do not recommend refreezing product when delivered direct from Formans to ensure best quality and taste. Keta Caviar Trout Roe has a 180 days refrigerated shelf life IF UNOPENED. Once opened, the shelf life of a well-sealed refrigerated jar is 30 days.
We do not recommend using lemon juice with any of our smoked salmon products. Lemon juice is commonly used to counterbalance the incredibly heavy smoke flavor that is found in smoked salmon from other smokehouses. H. Forman & Son produces a very mild smoke to preserve the salmon and give it a perfect balance of taste. If the salmon is truly of highest quality (which Formans salmon is), then over-smoking the fish masks the taste.
